Beer Guide to the 1970s (part sixty-four)

Yes, I'm still not finished with what is by far my longest series of posts ever.

Three more Whitbread breweries. All from parts of the country I never got to. And all of which closed in the space of a few years. In the late 1970s and early 1980s Whitbread closed a whole load of their many breweries. Quite often the really good ones. Were any of these really good ones? I've no idea, as I never drank any of the beers.

Let me know if you ever drank any of these beers and if they were any good.

Strong's Bitter made a comeback in the 1980's. It was a good pint. There were big ad boards up: 'This is Strong Country'. No idea whether it was as good as the original but I used to seek out Whitbread pubs in Southampton that stocked it.
