Have you been wondering

why I've been so prolific recently? Releasing four books in a few weeks.

Mortality. Is the simple answer. I'm of an age where the final horizon is in sight. I'm trying to get everything done so I can die a miserable old git. But one that's got everything done he wanted to.

Second reason is that I'm now work-free. Which has freed up some time during the day.

I can say this now I'm outside the workforce. I wrote loads of stuff at work. I'd say 80% of my "proper book" was written during office hours. Meaning I got paid for it twice. Sadly, way more from the day job.

Third reason? I write loads. I love writing. And I have loads I want to write about. Like my current enthusiasm: the 1970s.

I want to make a difference. So my life hasn't just been an endless succession of pub crawls. Fun as that was.

My book count is already crazy. Forty something. I've loads more in me. Hoping I can squeeze them all out before I croak.

And research. I'm doing loads of that. That was always a bit nervy in the past. Worrying if my boss had crept up behind me.

Two days on Elgood's records. Still not done. But got me some great, typical 1970s beers.

Not thought of this until now. Am I wallowing in my youth because I've sort-of retired?

This is not an excerpt from my recently-released Blitzkrieg!, the definitive book on brewing during WW II.

Get your copy now!

The second volume contains the recipes. But not just that. There are also overviews of some of the breweries covered, showing their beers at the start and the end of the conflict.

Buy one now and be the envy of your friends!

I've also a new book on London Stout. Get your copy now!

You lucky fucking bastards. All this great content for free. Show your appreciation. Please.

If I flog enough books, I might be able to afford a trip to Brazil next year. Fuck shoes for the kids. They're adults now.

Or just donate. I currently have no income, other than my books. Now work is behind me, and a pension just appearing over the horizon.

Don't I deserve my time in the sun?

Keep it up Ron. There's always room on my shelf for another 500 stout recipes.

Ahhh

I wrote my thesis at work. Was good use of my time.

Enjoy the writing!

You would just spend the money on caipirinhas.
