What I drank in my Berlin hotel

Fascinating for you all, I'm sure. But I'm just back from Newark, a bit knacked and feeling lazy.

As with my beer festival sups, Lager predominates. Now I've no time for Bavaria trips, I need to scratch my Lager itch somewhere.

Apologies for the IPA. It must have fallen into my basket accidentally.

Perhaps you picked it up because you thought the 14.4% was the abv? (What is the 14.4%, anyway?)

Always love a look at what you had to sup, Ron.
I can remember drinking plenty of Saigon between the age of 18 and 21 not far from where id is brewed. But as you noted, Hanoi is better. Back in the day, Huda was better still.

I hope it was FES you had stashed away and not the regular stuff.

I do love Potsdamer Stange...
And that IPA isn't that bad, honestly. In general, the Maisel's &friends line in small bottles is quite good..

The 14.4% is Stammwürze. Usually in °P but by definition you can write %.

Question for you Ron:
How do you get the label images? You can't possibly peel all those, or carry home empty bottles ... right ... right?

Anonymous,

I soaked them off in my hotel. Because German bottles are usuall returnable, the labels are attached with water soluble glue. They'll usually just float off after a few minutes soaking in hot water.
