There’s not a great deal to the grist. Two types of pale malt, a tiny amount of black malt (“for colouring”), flaked maize and sugar. The latter being rather vaguely described. Once again, I’ve plumped for No. 2 invert. Which is my default sugar, when brewers couldn’t be arsed to note down what it actually was.
Four types of hops: two English and one Württemberg from the 1908 season and Californian from 1907. Again, not the freshest. But there are enough of them to achieve a reasonable level of bitterness.
