It's that time of year again
The time of boiled eggs and string. Some call it Christmastime. But for me it's Drinkalongathon time. When you get the chance to drink along with me as I plough through an ocean of booze.
You know the score. I now rattle off a list of things that you'll need to join in. As I'm sure you all will want to.
You'll require:
1 crate of St. Bernardus Abt
4 rashers of bacon
5 pieces of string
1 bottle of the best Islay whisky you can afford
4 soft-boiled eggs
3 hard-boiled eggs
7 pieces of egg string
1 bottle of fino sherry
2 bottles of crappo sherry
1 Christmas jumper (left upstairs in a drawer, still wrapped)
4 crumpets
2 bottles of barrel-aged cachaca (amburana, if possible)
200 gm double Gloucester cheese
300 gm treble Gloucester cheese
1 packet cheesy biscuits
2 bottles of port
2 soft brown rolls
3 manly brown rolls
filo pastry to taste
1 small bottle of tonic water
3 large bottles of gin
2 ice cubes
1 day of shit Christmas TV programmes
2 bottles of Amstel Bok
1 step ladder
1 reserve sling
Quite a short list this year due to my continued incapacity.
The Drinkalongathon will start at 9 AM sharp. Be sure to have your eggs and string ready.

I have a problem. I have three bottles of Islay whisky and I think I may have to pour two of them down the drain. Not sure what other options there are.
Is that CET? Do we have breakfast first, or will breakfast be a feature? Will there be...breakfast photos???
Yes, CET. Of course breakfast will feature. As every year. (See photo above.)
You could post them to me for disposal.
Hmmm looks more like a mid-morning snack based upon recent breakfast photos. But glad we might get to see some more eggs, cheese and tomatoes.
Bought two bottles of Whiskey from two distillers in west Cork.

Ron, seeing that you perform this on-line | offline hybrid drinking scheme; I feel I should mention the FlyerTalk Bugger DO on New Year's Eve, Tue., 31 December.
This occurs usually monthly, but this event is the exception which permits its promotion to people not registered on FlyerTalk.
It is virtual; conducted via Zoom. This one shall begin earlier than usual in order to allow for midnight to be toasted across multiple time zones. The Zoom room opens @ 23:30 CET.
We generally have a visitor from New Zealand, which for her means she shall already be in 2025. I shall mention this on some Japanese-orbiting W-WW sites where I circulate.
There is a ruse that when someone inadvertantly or advertantly says 'the word of the day', everybody must drink.
The particulars of the meeting URL are not sent to prospective participants until a few hours before the session begins. So I am quizzical on how this will work for people not on FlyerTalk. Perhaps it shall be briefly posted in an early post on the above thread.
Anyhow, I like and appreciate this because it saves me from a night out which would be despoiled by amateurs who are not familiar with the decor and atmosphere of licensed establishments.
