Make your birthday special - by brewing a beer originally made on that date.
For a mere 25 euros, I'll create a bespoke recipe for any day of the year you like. As well as the recipe, there's a few hundred words of text describing the beer and its historical context and an image of the original brewing record.

Surely Bitter! should be a megabook.
Who am I to make your children go shoeless. It will look nice next to Porter.
Is this the official release of the first edition or as you state a work in progress?
First Stater, this is a work in progress. Not sure when the official release will be.
Nice cover - a blown up portion of Manet's "Bar at the Folies-Bergeres." Given the audience, the beer is a much better choice than the bored barmaid.
That said, I don't think that a 500 page mini-book is "to style" according to the BJCP and BA guidelines for beer books. Properly speaking, it's more likely to fall into the category of "doorstop," "technical manual" or the nearly extinct styles of "telephone book" or "mail order catalog." :)
Thomas, the final version will be a Mega Book. I had to change plans after I got past 400 pages.
