I, for one, was very excited to see these beers on the list of beers becoming available through Shelton Brothers in the States (I'm a state rep for them in Iowa) and will be doing what I can to make sure that they show up locally. (and that I get a case of each...)
I just had a look at the Shelton Brothers website - surely they don't import casked Adnams, Ridgeway Bitter and Coniston to the states let alone Iowa!?
They do, though the cask business is a fraction of the (mostly bottled) business. The Bluebird, and Ridgeway are bottle-conditioned, and can be anywhere from good to excellent. The last case of Ridgeway bitter I got was excellent. The Adnams stuff I believe we're just selling off remaining bottled stock.
There are a few oases here in the vast midwest that support quite a selection of the worlds best beers.
I am going to do my best to make sure that both beers show up at John's Grocery in Iowa City. If you don't make it over this way very often, I can see what I can do about having it show up at Cyclone Liquor in Ames, especially if you want a case, but we don't have any accounts in Des Moines that get overproof (6.25%+) beer through the state. If you have any further questions you can contact me at kevinatsheltonbrothers.com
Congratulations. What a great achievement, Ron.
ReplyDeleteLooks the business, look forward to reading about what it tastes like.
ReplyDeleteI am now a proud owner of a Pattinson-De Molen Porter, having met the great man in London this afternoon. Cheers Ronbert

I can't fathom cask ale from England making it to the States in good form let alone here to good old Iowa (I live in Des Moines).
ReplyDeleteLet me know if they show up in Iowa.
Matt
Ron, Sorry for the hijack.
I would like to see that beer in Minnesota. I'd buy a case.
