He singled out Asahi lager as one of the beers he drank. Whether it was regularly available, I didn't think to ask (I was a teenager). It was a Scottish regiment, and while the old man was open minded, most of his comrades wouldn't touch English beer of any kind. As you've pointed out elsewhere on he...Hi Ron ,<br />As you've pointed out elsewhere on here , Allsopp's were brewing Lager , as were Walker's of Warrington , at their Shobnall Road Brewery in Burton on Trent ; from Ca 1904/5 on the Allsopp's method, and a few years later the shortcomings of this method became evident to the board at HQ , with the Lager brewery being re modelled and overhauled .<br />Still not found any of the Walker's Burton Brewery records .... Yet !
